God's creativity is endless. Today was one of those days! I was slogging through a series of long and stressful weeks, with a lot of things on my mind. In fact, it was not so many days ago that I was thinking that I really needed a break before I "break".
Today I just enjoyed a free "break", courtesy of God himself. Ok, here's the deal. My day started off particularly worse, as Mum only told me in the morning itself that she had to leave for work half an hour earlier, which made me rush like a maniac to get ready (I had to depend on her for transport) .. As the day unfolded, I found myself bogged down with many outstanding issues and commitments that were nagging me silently in my mind. However, generally the day ran smoother than expected, especially due to a significant event. God decided to take my mind off my troubles for a moment. He sent ... of all things, .... a car with a flat tyre!! Nope, not my car. I was walking on the road outside Dayabumi and then I saw this Proton Saga with a flat tyre. After a short inner-self debate, I decided to ask if the owner, a middle-aged lady standing nearby needed help. In fact, this in itself MUST have been planned earlier by God. My mum's car caught a flat tyre twice within the last few months. The first time, I learnt how to change a flat tyre and more importantly, made a vow that as far as I am able to, I will stop to help anyone with a flat tyre. Second time mum had a flat tyre, I had practice how to actually change it. So I was confident and ready. However, today God probably knew (I don't know, I am only speculating for I cannot fathom his creativity!) that I was physically too tired to actually change the tyre (although I volunteered to help) and so, although the woman had a toolbox full of tools, she did not have one of the essential tools, a tyre wrench. So I couldn't remove the flat tyre. Nevertheless, she thanked me for offering to help. The entire incident took my mind off my troubles for at least a brief moment. As the day passed, I felt more relaxed, as if the pressure had been let out by that brief moment of rest. However, there was still an unsatisfactory feeling as I hadn't managed to help the lady change the tyre. Guess what, GOD PROVIDED THAT SATISFACTION TOO! This is what happened. On the way back to YMCA from KL Sentral, I passed by a clinic. The staff of the clinic was trying to pull down the metal shutter with the (what-do-you-call-it?) a metal pole with a small hook at the end. The trouble was, the pole was slightly bent out of shape, and so the metal hook could not grip the shutter. She was obviously having difficulties, so I volunteered to help. God also provided a moment of SUSPENSE when the metal pole slipped and banged the glass. I was beginning to doubt if I could lower the shutter without first shattering the glass door. Anyway, I finally managed to lower the shutter enough for the staff member to pull it down. Yea! Satisfaction guaranteed. Two simple incidents. But the way everything clicked together was way beyond comprehension. At first glance it looks like coincidence but I'm sure there is something more than just coincidence behind the events. So at the end of it all, I am effectively de-stressed now. Oh, I am sure this is not gonna last forever but still, I can only describe it in one word. AWESOME! Thank you Lord! -Darryn-
